Banff - September 2006

Established in 1885, Canada's Banff National Park is home to glaciated peaks, turquoise-colored lakes, and a wide range of wildlife. We traveled to Banff in search of the illusive Rocky Mountain Lopilla, a subspecies of the more common Canadian Sasquatch. We did spot a large, hairless primate near Bow Glacier Falls, but the timid creature made a quick getaway before we record a positive ID. The rest of our time was spent fishing and canoeing the Bow River, hiking, and riding some hungry-hungry-horses. We also went fossil hunting in downtown Banff, where Jasmine found a marvelous ammonite specimen. Steve won the first annual Banff Burger Dash - run 1/4 mile, eat 5 hamburgers, run 1/4 mile.
